Christmas, part 1

Since it's about 2 weeks after Christmas, I might as well be the last blogger to post about it.  I'm sure everyone else has moved on but this will help me relive the wonderful celebration it was.

As mentioned here, we celebrated with our Ohio friends and their families a few weeks before Christmas.  I love jump starting the festivities early.  It makes for a month long celebration.

The next weekend, we celebrated Jesus's birth with our family at Lake Ridge Church during their Christmas program.  Other than our fidgety, "Papa" yelling, cooking-snatching 1 year old, it was a great time of remembering who our Savior is.

3 days before Christmas day, we celebrated with some local church friends for a little (but a TON of food) appetizer evening.  It was a fun time connecting with families we might see on the corner or in the local grocery store.  I love that we live close to people in our church.

Little Miss had a fever on Christmas Eve so we opted out of the Christmas Eve service.  My parents and family friends came over after and we had dessert together.

Christmas morning as special, as always, together as a family of 3. We read the Christmas story, opened stocking and presents and went to church to celebrate corporately.  It was a nice morning.

Then we trekked to my parents house for lunch, naps and a big dinner with more family friends.  We played a rousing game of telephone charades that made everyone laugh to the point of tears.  Many a blackmail picture was taken, but those will be saved until later. :)

Any finally, this last weekend we finished the celebration with Jeremy's family.  Maddie loved seeing her cousin, Michal, and playing with the whole family.  We took a trip to see zoo lights and a ride of the carousel.  We had Christmas #2 with them and enjoyed it as much as #1.  Pictures to come later.
