Vegas, Baby

Our first leg of the trip was time well spent in Las Vegas, NV.  We flew in to the Sin City, after a LONG layover in Atlanta, early Friday morning.  Heads hit the pillows at 3 a.m. EST only to be woken by E&A at 5 a.m. and Little Miss at 6 a.m.  It was a brutal morning but after a lot of coffee, I managed to enjoy my day.

Maddie thought it was hysterical that there was a cafe in The Venetian that was similar to her name.

We ate breakfast at the Bellagio buffet...they do it right.  All you can eat delicious salmon for $15.99?  Yes, please.  We went right before 10:30 and ate to our hearts content.  We even managed to get some of the lunch options since they put them out at 11.  It was the best of both worlds.

There weren't any plans to see a show since we've never experienced the city before.  It was incredible to see.  The concierge at the hotel wasn't much help but did give me once piece of advice that was true...almost all the casinos look alike.  And they do.

Our celebrity sighting was Pete Rose...no one was overly excited.  There wasn't even a line to shake his hand.

The hotels on the other hand...VERY DIFFERENT.  My favorite hotel was Trump.  It was beautiful and pristine.  My favorite shopping, hands down, The Venetian.  Austin put it best, "My brain tells me I'm outside.  My higher brain tells me I'm inside."  And the 12 flavors of sorbet at the gelato stand...the pear was delicious.

One of my favorite things from Vegas was...at the end of breakfast, Austin asked for a to-go cup of soda.  The waitress, Cici, replied, "Take your glass.  This is Vegas, we'll get it back."
